The architecture of DC is not something I had thought about so much before. Washington, DC, has undergone revitalization and that includes the wharves. There are things that are not so great about living in the Washington, DC, area. But the oldest farmers’ market in America is awesome! There are days off in America. Local entertainment or dinner and a show in Arlington. Here’s some advice on being a tourist in DC. I also list some walks in DC. Or try some fun food outings. And what to do when you’ve done it all. Why did Memorial Day originate? Eating barbecue is very American. Try eating SPAM. American love breakfast sandwiches (or is it just me?) You know what else is pricey? Groceries. Especially at farmers markets (but at least it is tasty). Learn about the history of the USA through three sisters. Or through immigrant food. Or learn about the Columbian exchange. Explore Old Town Alexandria. Or meat so good a vegetarian ate it! Try one of my favorite eateries in the DMV.
Canada, USA, Mexico… (photo from Mexico City of a performance of native dances… note the socks with sandals in the photo below!) American food. Diverse like the country (largest Chinatown in America), yummy pulled noodles, and I found a Danish bakery in NYC. Culture shock in America. America is a country of immigrants so I went to Minneapolis for Korean fusion food. Found Finnish at a fair. Went to a Southern diner in North Carolina called Dixie Diner. Explored Asheville as a place to live. And went a fantastic food tour in Asheville. Admitted that sago or taro may be my spirit starch when on a tour in NYC. Got a Russian style pedicure in NYC. Why Cinco de Mayo is a bigger deal in the USA than in Mexico.
